Intelligent vice drive with sensorless torque evaluation
The project objective was to develop an intelligent electrical vice drive, consisting of an engine and a display unit, to enable more ergonomic working conditions on machine tools. The display unit allows an easy configuration and visualizes the clamping force and the force gradient of the clamping procedure. The motor unit determines with high accuracy and without sensors the applied torque up to 40 Nm, controls a BLDC motor, monitors operating states and communicates with the display unit.
